Tough roads separate, but eventually come together.
Me and my wife, Glory, met in our senior of high school. We had some friends in common, and I had a small crush on her best friend, but other than that we never really socialized. At the end of my senior year I graduated High School, and deployed to basic training and AIT with the Army for about 10 months. I came back home at the end of basic training and called up Glory's best friend to hang out and go to a movie one night, and Glory tagged along with us.
A few weeks later I deployed to Kosovo for 1 year. I would call back home to Glory and talk on the phone with her at night a few times a week and eventually she told me that she liked me. I told her that I liked her too, and we began dating. We dated for 10 months while I was deployed, and it was tough. We were like a mini whirlwind though the two of us. Instantly drawn together and in love. Towards the end of the deployment, and a couple weeks before I came home we broke up.
I had already made plans for an apartment in the same college town as her, so I came back home to an empty apartment in a completely unfamiliar area. I got a job, and moved on with my life, and even got a new girlfriend, but in the back of my mind I always thought of her.
About 6 months later I received a refund from a bill deposit Glory had made for me while I was deployed, so I called her up to return the money. We met, and we were doomed. Two years later we were engaged, 1 year later married, and celebrated our second anniversary last month. We are like magnets, we are always together, she truly is my other half.
