Someone Just Right
In my twenties, I started to feel that it was time to settle down with someone. Though it was easy to date and there were plenty of pleasant, single men I could meet, none seemed to be the right fit for me.
I began thinking every night as I fell asleep about what kind of a person I would get along well with. As I considered all the possible traits a man could have, I decided that what I would appreciate would be loyalty, kindness, intelligence, helpfulness, and a cheerful manner. Being tall sounded nice, too.
Within a few months, a tall man approached me at a gathering. He asked me out, and because I had been trying to attract a certain type of person, I could see that he had all the qualities I had wanted. If not for my time spent considering what I was looking for ... this wonderful partner who has shared my life for decades might have seemed to be just another ordinary person. Imagining what you want really works wonders!
