This book has been around forever and I can remember my dad talking about it over 12 years ago. If you're interested in having more friends, making more sales, improving your relationship with your boss and upper management, and handling difficult clients then you've found the book that will help you with all of these things. It's the one book that teaches proven methods to get people to understand your perspective while simultaneously improving your relationship with them. It's a must read for anyone who's interested in improving their public relations skill set. Don't hesitate and get the book as soon as possible. You wont regret it!

This book is about making people like you. However, most of the techniques he teaches are much too simple and ineffective. When I was reading the book, I was surprised to recognize many little tricks people were using in order to have their way with me. These tricks were so obvious that I always wanted to ask the people: "Just how stupid you think I am? Do you really think I'm not seeing what you're really up to?" Most of the techniques Mr. Carnegie suggested were very easy to recognize and there was no chance anybody could make me like him by using them.

At that time, I was everything but advanced in psychology. What I'm saying is that when you use Mr. Carnegie's tricks, there's a great chance that people you're dealing with will recognize them and react negatively. The book is easy to read and can certainly give you some good basics on human psychology, but if you want to be really successful in your communication, you'll need much more than Mr. Carnegie's ancient wisdom.

There is one more thing you should know. When Mr. Carnegie talks about "friends", he means "customers". You might make customers with his techniques, but you probably won't make any friends. It's still an interesting read and could help some people.

If you have a shy personality, Dale Carnegie can help you overcome it with his techniques. Mr. Carnegie stresses charm and psychology as the means of influencing his clients (or yours) to see things his way.

To be attractive you need to acquire a non-stop energy, one that is positively charged and confident. When you interact with others you should convey a purpose and a result to follow it, and, you should persevere.

Perseverance is alluring, it causes others to want to be like you. It is one of the best selling points when it comes to selling yourself.

At times Mr. Carnegie seems to be practicing a bit of trickery to accomplish goals of winning friends and influencing his enemies to back away, yet, you can take his advice if you dare.

Some of the suggestions he describes might seem unethical or non-feeling. Yet all-in-all he offers wise points. It is important according to Mr. Carnegie to put the persons you are dealing with first, encourage them to talk about themselves in all your dealings whether for business or for pleasure.

Applying knowledge creates power, so be knowledgeable especially about the persons you contact.

How to Win Friends & Influence People is a classic written by Dale Carnegie. While it may have originally been published in the 1930s, the fundamentals of human interaction described in this book are still applicable to most modern interactions. Language may evolve, styles may change, and people may act differently on the surface, but underneath all of that, the way that we interact with one another is fundamentally the same as it has been throughout time. Mr. Carnegie teaches his you how to attract and inspire other people by believing in yourself and also to take a look at yourself before you blame others. He also details how to encourage people to do what you want, without specifically asking them to.

I have read this book at least five or six times in my life. It is short but packed with powerful lessons on leading and inspiring others. I highly recommend picking it up and reading it at least twice, just to make sure everything sinks in. You will be astonished by the way that it changes your interactions with people in your business and personal life for the better. I feel like I either directly, or indirectly, apply something that I have learned from this book every day when interacting with my subordinates at work or with my family, specifically my children, at home. This is, without a doubt, one of the most inspirational and influential books that I have ever read.

In this book John Gray throws light on how to improve communication and get what you want in your relationships. The main theme of the book is how Martians and Venusians met, fell in love and had a happy relationship together because they respected and accepted their differences in spite of the fact that they came from different planets. Conflicts are a part of human relationships and they occur between men and women and leads to disintegration in relationships. This book has taught me many things and I have applied those things in my daily life and have been successful in maintaining my relationships. Not only that I have also been successful in getting what I want out of my relationship.
