How I Left My Job
This is going to sound crazy, because most people want to get a better job or a better promotion or to make more money. I, on the other hand, was dying to get fired. Not fired in the traditional sense of the word, but I work in an industry where contracts are the norm. For pretty much any position you must sign a two to three year contract, and there is almost no getting out of it unless you either pay to sever the contract or you are let go. I desperately wanted out. Over the last few months, I grew to hate my job more and more. I had both moral and ethical obligations to some of the things I was being required to do, but because I was under contract I was essentially required to stay (or face a long, messy legal battle in court). I thought about it and thought about it, how my only feasible way out was to be let go. I didn't want to slack off on my job duties, because I'm just not that kind of person. But still, I couldn't get the thought of getting let go out of my head. Then, one week, it happened. Seemingly entirely out of the blue, I was called into my boss' office on a Friday afternoon and told they were "making some changes". And that was it. I was free to go. Now, thanks to the law of attraction, I am free to pursue other career aspirations I feel much more suited to.
