I can still remember going to the theater and sitting in this movie in 3D. I really had no expectations for this movie, but as I sat there with my 3D glasses on and watched these beautiful blue creatures walk across the screen, I was mesmerized. Floating islands and winged creatures that you attach yourself to, to build a bond. I was in love with it. The most meaningful part to me was when the people of Pandora all sat under the huge tree and grabbed hands and changed while every form of life around them glowed with the connection.
It was a wonderful movie about how we are all connected and that life truly is precious. And that Jake Sully fell in love with Pandora and its people so much, that he was willing to "die" as a human being to become an Avatar forever. It is a wonderful movie about the love of nature and the love of people. And about how just because someone is different or comes from another place, doesn't mean that bonds can't be made. It still is one of my favorite movies to this day. And when I feel down or need a spirit pick me up, I sit down on my couch and turn on my DVD player to take a trip to Pandora.
