Teaching

There is a difference between interest and commitment. When you are interested in doing something, you only do it when circumstances permit. When you are committed to do something you accept no excuses, only results! These lines have always moved me and being an NCC cadet values were automatically blended in me. My teachers taught me to dream in building an educated society. Later on I studied Mass Com and I am a Writer by profession. An interesting job as I get to meet people from various walks of life and all of them and each of them keeps illuminating me with various unknown facts of life.

Apart from my profession I had made a promise. I am an unconventional teacher. I started imparting the basic values of life to some of the poor children living in my area, just an attempt to make their life better. They are taught how to combat in life, yoga, calculations and general knowledge. I felt lucky to have done this very little for the children. But what really worried me was their ill health and I started helping them with proper tiffin. Then I got married.

Now I teach the palsy and some challenging children of my area. I have been doing this for the last 17 years despite social barriers and have been humiliated many times by the parents of these kids as I stopped them from child labour and have admitted a couple of them to the Govt School too. There were political pressures as well but my family stood by me and more than the determination to make a change for the good simply pushed me forward. My pen is my sword as well and I try to write to make a difference in numerous corporate blogs and e-magazines as well. I am determined to make a change... the change for good and I wish to open an unconventional school for the left out society where not only the children but I would also like the adult women to come forward, where they will be helped and illuminated with all about safety, motherhood, health awareness programs, handicrafts and various such plans on the pipeline. Well I can only say Teaching to me is not a way to earn money but my responsibility help the society move towards light.
