Shrimad Bhagvad Gita
Books are most treasured friend of a person. They are often such a great ocean of knowledge which can provide solace to someone in the time of great depressions and can light up the path of life amidst the darkest hours of grief and solitude. I have read so many books but I have greatest regards for the Shrimad Bhagvad Gita which has shown me the right path in my darkest hours of life.
This is one of the holy books of the Hindus which contains dialog between warrior Pandav prince Arjun and his guide Lord Krishna when both of them are standing between the armies of Pandavas and Kauravas and are ready for the war. Arjun is in a fix since he has to fight with his brothers, uncles, teachers & grandfather and he wails that for the sake of kingdom he is ready to kill all those. Lord Krishna; at that time tells that it’s not merely a war for land instead it is the war within, the struggle for self-mastery that every human being must wage if he or she is to emerge from life victorious. The war is for the upholding of truth, peace and justice and Arjun must fight keeping all his pain and love for his own people at one side since he is fighting against evils. Gita also tells that life and death are just two phases and everyone must go tough this. But the most important thing in life to follow his duty and this is what one should always fight for.
