My Own Project
(Portland, Oregon, USA)
Shortly before attending college, I was worried about meeting a girl. Sure, I had been in several relationships over the years, but as I got older I became more shy. It was harder to meet new people, let alone women.
My first day on campus, I saw so many beautiful women everywhere. I quickly found that being around them every day made me daydream of having a girlfriend once again. A few weeks into my writing class, we all partnered up with another randomly assigned person. Of course my partner just had to be one of the prettiest girls I've ever met.
We did great on the project and mostly stuck to business. We even exchanged numbers. Normally I'd be excited but I knew it was just for the project. It wasn't until the night before it was due that I decided to try and shoot the breeze with her. I asked how her day was and she responded extremely positively. We talked for a good twenty minutes before she asked out of nowhere, "Do you have a girlfriend?"
I remember my heart practically stopping. I told her I didn't and she told me it was "good to know". We flirted for a bit even. I hardly slept that night because I couldn't get her out of my head. The next day we turned in our very well written project and met up after classes.
We shared a kiss in front of a coffee shop when we said goodbye to each other, and the rest was history. I've been with her ever since.
