Living The Good Life
Helen and Scott Nearing were on a quest to live "the good life," one that was honest and fulfilling. They expected nothing to be given to them and knew they were undertaking a lot of hard work. This book is about perseverance in the face of failure, hard work and dedication in making your dreams come true, and the power of both love and optimism. They never just gave up, even when they experienced huge set backs. Because of their positive attitude, they attracted many friends willing to help them out in creating their own personal utopia. And they didn't keep it all for themselves, many friends were welcomed and invited to stay and work.
To me, this book shows that anything is possible with the right attitude. You can change your own life and make it exactly how you want it to be. It may require help, but you can find help. It may require money, but you can find money. If you really want to live "the good life," you must do so with a certain amount of confidence and a great deal of perseverance.
