Limiting beliefs are negative stories you tell yourself. They are not true, they are not facts. However, these false stories prevent you from moving forward towards the success, love, and happiness you desire and deserve.

Clearing your limiting beliefs is essential for your progress in life. The story that you tell yourself does matter. It's everything.

What Is a Belief?

A belief is an unquestioned emotion of certainty about anything. It's a neural network that's been created. When something is reinforced and repeated, it becomes a belief.

Your beliefs become your habits. Paradigms are a collection of beliefs or a multitude of habits. However, nothing changes on the outside unless you change what happens in the inside first.

Your body is the hardware, and your beliefs is the software. You've got to have the right software, the right programming to get the hardware to do what you want. Your mind is an amazing tool, and when it's programmed properly, you can have anything. You just may need to change some files that have been saved in your marvelous storage unit.

Nobody is immune to limiting beliefs that come up every so often. Anytime you feel any negative emotion you know that you're moving in the wrong direction. You're out of the flow and out of alignment with what you truly desire in your life.

Techniques for Getting Rid of Negative Beliefs and Changing Your Paradigms

In general, these steps are common for many techniques that teach how to get rid of your negative thinking patterns and feelings:

  1. Acknowledge the negative feeling. If you try to fight it or deny it, you only give it more power.

  2. Feel it. It is important to allow yourself to feel the emotion behind it, because that is an emotion you need to deal with in order to release it. If you don't allow yourself to feel it, you will bury it. And if you try to bury it alive, it will arise again.

  3. Replace it with a better feeling thought. So, after you acknowledge it, feel it, express it and let it go, just reach for the opposite of it.

There are many techniques you can use to clear your limiting beliefs. The clearer you are, the faster you are able to manifest your desires. Here are some very useful techniques:

Creative Visualization

Visualizationin a form or another, is the best technique you can use to release your limiting beliefs and eventually get what you desire. 

All of the above mentioned techniques utilize visualization.

You're building new neural networks when you're visualising. Your mind can't tell the difference between what is real and what is not when you vividly, emotionally imagine it.

Start ”lying” to yourself. If you write down "a lie" and say it out loud to yourself long enough with a great feeling, it will become truth. That's a new belief then, a new story that you tell yourself.

It takes about 30 days to reprogram your mind. You need to do a visualization exercise daily. It's even better and more effective if you do the same exercise 2-3 times a day. You get further faster.

So Where Do Your Limiting Beliefs Come from?

You inherit most of them. They are actually other people's beliefs and habits, because there are a lot of people who affect your life: Your parents, friends, teachers, colleagues, religious leaders, culture (= a group habit), the media, TV shows... you name it.

There are three primary ways of how you inherit your beliefs:

  • Verbal programming.
    This is what you hear other people saying and talking about different things.

  • Modeling.
    This is what you see other people doing when you're growing up, so you do the same. For example, how your parents used money, were they savers or spenders.

  • Incidents.
    This is what you experience. For example, you ask for money from your Mom, and she says she doesn't have any money, and she tells you to go ask your Dad. You learn that men have all the money, and women have no money.

So, we've been conditioned to work from the outside to the inside. 

To get what you want, you must work from the inside to the outside. This is strictly between you and yourself. No one else is involved.

The good news is that you can always change your negative beliefs and habits to positive ones. Choose the ones that serve you best.
